A decade of ICOS Sweden: Measurements to impact in carbon cycle and greenhouse gas science

The Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) activities in Sweden have reached a number of significant milestones this year:

10 years of the dedicated atmosphere and ecosystem observatory – Hyltemossa – now one of the most fully equipped stations in the 180 strong European station network,

30 years of the Norunda observatory – one of Europe’s longest running records to study greenhouse gases from ecosystem to global scales,

15 years of the Swedish ICOS national network pioneering measurements and data towards the ICOS mission, and last but not least

10 years of ICOS Carbon Portal, a unique data repository for greenhouse gas data hosted by Lund University and 10 years data from the Swedish ICOS network on the Carbon Portal.

We want to celebrate these four milestones achieved with former and future users of the stations and data involved. We want to take the opportunity to unite scientists, research engineers and stakeholders in this user meeting.
